Why RoboLab?

The Lego Mindstorms kit comes with its own programming tool for free, which is sometimes called RCX code. Why use do we use RoboLab? RoboLab runs on both PCs and Macs, while RCX code is for PCs only. Also IMHO (in my humble opinion), RoboLab is more powerful and better illustrates fundamental programming concepts. However many successful robot competitors use RCX code.
