Trips

Field trips are a great way to add interest and excitement to any youth activity. In Computer Challenge, we take field trips to competitions and festivals at the end of each semester. You may decide to visit a high tech workplace for your career exploration. And depending on your semester theme, you may take field trips to gather photographs, videos, and interviews for your projects.

You will need to arrange transportation for your trip. Your school or community center may be able to provide a bus or van. Or you can ask parents to drive if your school allows it. Check your school policies. Asking parents to drive is a good way to get them involved with club activities.

Plan ahead for food also. Do students need to bring money? Should they eat before coming?

A parent permission slip is required for all field trips. The permission slip should include all needed information about the trip (where, when, who, what, why), directions, cost, and a parents signed permission. It should mention Computer Challenge and the club sponsor(s), if any. Ask your school if they have a standard permission slip or requirements for permision slips.
